Profitis Ilias Monastery

We will make our first stop Profitis Ilias Monastery which was built in 1711 on the summit of Mount Profitis Ilias (Prophet Elijah). At about 600 meters above sea level, Profitis Ilias Monastery is the highest point of Santorini. It has been known as a place of great historical significance with its churches, chapels, bell tower and wealth of numerous religious artifacts from the 18th century. Not only are you at the highest point but the views are breathtakingly beautiful.

Akrotiri Archaeological Site

We will then visit Akrotiri Archaeological Site which is one of the most remarkable prehistoric settlements of the Aegean. Importantly, the ash has preserved structures that allow the visitor to recognise this specific wonder of antiquity.

Red Beach

A drive by the famous Red Beach to have a brief look at the spectacular red volcanic rock formations.

Lighthouse

We will take you to the Lighthouse in south-west point of the famous Santorini’s Caldera view. Built in 1892 it is one of the finest lighthouses in Greece. The sunset from this spot is phenomenal.

Vlychada Beach

Vlychada beach with its carved cliffs, shallow waters and dark volcanic sand and pebbles is striking. Here we also come across the small port close to the beach, where you can see small yachts and boats, relax and enjoy a meal at the local taverns famous for their fish. It is, in fact, the most atmospheric beach you can find in the island of Santorini.

Megalochori

We will continue our journey on to visit Megalochori which has been characterised as one of the most picturesque and traditional villages of Santorini. The mansions and restored houses of vernacular architecture, the high walls and the pirate hideaways are the highlights of this preserved old settlement.

Black Beach

After a busy morning, you’ll have the chance to visit one the largest beaches in Santorini which is covered with black volcanic pebbles. Enjoy some time to relax and an opportunity to have a lunch at a seaside restaurant. Choose from Perivolos beach or Kamari beach.

Local Winery (optional)

At this point you have the option to visit a local winery of your choice, a taste of Santorini with wine tasting. You can choose from a selection of local wineries with different qualities, the local driver will be able to help you decide the perfect winery of your desires.
